Struggling with acne and looking for a long-term solution? You may be a good candidate for AviClear. AviClear is a laser treatment for mild to severe acne that can give you clear skin for up to two years. It’s a safe, effective, non-invasive alternative to treatment options like Accutane.

What Is AviClear

AviClear is the first FDA-cleared laser device designed to treat mild to severe acne vulgaris. Acne is caused by excess sebum, the oil your skin produces. Too much sebum can clog pores, trapping dirt and bacteria, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, and other blemishes.

AviClear reduces the risk of breakouts by using a 1,726 nanometer wavelength laser to selectively target the glands that produce sebum. The laser heats the glands, which destroy their ability to produce sebum. The glands will grow back over time, but they will produce less sebum when they regrow. The laser is so precise that it does not affect any of the surrounding skin, just the sebum glands.1

What to Expect During AviClear Treatment

Treatment involves three 30-minute sessions, scheduled four to six weeks apart. Your provider will prepare your skin and lay gauze across your face. They will pass the laser across your face to target all the affected areas.

Some people report mild to moderate discomfort during treatment. It feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin, but the discomfort stops after the treatment ends. There is no downtime, and you can return to normal activity right away.  You may have mild redness after treatment, but it usually goes away within two days.2

AviClear is suitable for all skin types and skin tones and people of all ages can choose AviClear.

You can expect to see full results within six months of our final treatment appointment. But many people notice results sooner than that. The result can last up to two years, reducing breakouts and the risk of acne scars. You can have touch-up treatments in the future to maintain your results.

How Much Does AviClear Cost?

The cost of AviClear ranges from $1,500–$3,000 for the full treatment course. Your final costs will depend on things like location and which provider you work with. Is AviClear worth it? Over 80% of people who undergo AviClear are satisfied with their results and think it is.3

AviClear is not covered by insurance, unlike the oral acne treatment Accutane. However, AviClear has fewer potential side effects than Accutane, which can cause birth defects. Accutane also requires frequent doctor appointments and bloodwork. AviClear only requires the three appointments for treatment, with no follow up care.
